" Hannah has played a pivotal role in helping our district nurses navigate and understand Infinite Campus, the student information system we rely on daily. She has become our go to resource for all things related to the platform."


"Hannah's impact goes far beyond her job description. Through her leadership in Infinite Campus training, she has strengthened our team's overall efficiency and confidence. Her knowledge, generosity and genuine investment in helping others grow have made her an indispensable part of our district's success."


"Hannah has gone out of her way to make sure no one feels left behind during this transition. She has shared her expertise generously, helping other nurses feel comfortable and capable. At the same, she continues to manage her own full workload and give her students the care and attention they deserve."

Christian Bertel is the recipient of the Outstanding Service of a School Nurse award.


Christian's nominator stated:


"Christian provided visionary leadership through the Missouri Association of School Nurses (MASN) by chairing the development of a Model School Health Services Policy and Procedure Manual for Missouri school districts. Under her leadership, the team produced a practical, adaptive framework ground in the School Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, the Missouri Nurse Practice Act, and evidence- based guidance- giving lead nurses a strong, common foundation they can tailor to local needs."

Jessica Hahn is the recipient of the Rising Star Award.


Jessica's nominators stated:


"She builds strong, trusting relationships with students, families, and staff, fostering a sense of community and care that extends beyond her office. Her warmth and approachable nature, coupled with her unwavering professionalism, make her a respected and much-valued member of her school community. Jess has gone above and beyond by becoming a CPR instructor and providing life-saving training to our staff. She has taken a leadership role in helping onboard our new substitute nurses, ensuring they feel prepared and supported."


"Jess has been instrumental in helping to shape a Heart Safe environment at Robinson. She has taken the lead in organizing and training staff in heart safety procedures, and has ensured that team members are equipped to administer CPR in emergency situations. Through her coordination and initiative, our school community is not only working towards being better prepared to respond to emergencies, but also more confident and empowered to act. Her efforts reflect both her expertise and her dedication to fostering a culture of safety and care."


"Her calm and caring presence has made the nurse's office a safe and welcoming place for all. Students adore her- not just because she helps them feel better physically, but because she listens deeply and makes them feel seen and cared for. Jess has also demonstrated outstanding leadership as an emerging voice in school health initiatives, contributing ideas and implementing practices that have strengthened our overall wellness program."

Dr. Deepa Mokshagundam is the recipient of the Friends of School Nursing Award.


Dr. Deepa has made valuable impacts on school nurses through her collaboration with school professionals.


She has generously shared her expertise by providing high-quality

presentations through both the St. Louis Suburban School Nurses Association and the Missouri

Association of School Nurses, consistently serving as a reliable and insightful resource for

school nurses navigating complex student health needs.


Dr. Mokshagundam’s currently works with Project

ADAM—a national initiative aimed at preventing sudden cardiac death in children and

adolescents through preparedness, education, and action. Dr. Mokshagundam has been

instrumental in helping implement Project ADAM across schools in the St. Louis area. Her

efforts have empowered schools and school nurses with the critical tools, training, and support

needed to become designated Heart Safe Schools, ensuring that life-saving protocols are in

place in the event of Sudden Cardiac Arrest.


Her unwavering commitment to student health and her collaboration with school nurses make

her a true friend and ally to our profession. Dr. Mokshagundam exemplifies the spirit of this

award through her advocacy, education, and deep respect for the role of school nurses in

promoting student safety and wellness.

Angela is the recipient of School Nurse Administrator of the Year.


Her nominators stated:


" Angie has absolutely elevated our school nursing program in the district. Her professionalism and expectation of consistency and excellence inspires our nurses to meet high standards with positivity. Angie promotes a collaborative model of leadership where she encourages the nursing team to take ownership of the creation of health policies and protocols. She has centralized and streamlined our nursing resources so that we are more consistent and confident with our health information resources."


"Mrs. Underwood-Olson oversees and supports over thirty school nurses in our system. As our Coordinator, she works tirelessly to make sure our environments are safe and supportive for all students and staff. She does an amazing job of advocating for the safety of our students by working with staff and families to meet the health and wellness needs of all of our students. She serves as the go to for all staff on appropriate and safe care, Angela does a wonderful job of creating a supportive environment that bridges healthcare needs and our school system. She is an advocate for all of our school nurses and works to provide the training and support they all need to be successful in their roles."


"Angie is a positive, collaborative leader who focuses on identifying needs and implementing change that benefits our students, staff, and families."
